CD WINS PARENTS’ CHOICE GOLD AWARD FOR TOP 10 CHILDREN’S
MUSIC CDS IN NORTH AMERICA

BY JAKE is proud to announce that children’s performer
Jake’s album TAKE A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME, has won a
2004 Parents’ Choice Gold Award, one of 10 awards
given to children’s music CDs that are “judged
as the highest quality, most appealing products in their
genre.”
In presenting
the award, Claire Greene, President of the Parents’
Choice Foundation, commented: “As a Parents’
Choice Award winner, (Jake is) a member of a very select
group. Fewer than 15% of the products submitted to the Parents
’Choice Awards program receive any level of commendation.”
The
Parents’ Choice judging committee, comprised of parents,
librarians, educators, and kids, wrote in their review that
"Jake sings a fine and dandy song... with a generous
dash of humour and an even larger measure of heart."

am thrilled and honoured that my CD won this award,”
says Jake. “In particular, it’s very exciting
to receive a top North American award alongside such great
Canadian artists as Jack Grunsky and Connie Kaldor.”
TAKE
A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME, comprised of 16 songs (13 originals,
and 3 new arrangements of traditional songs) has already
won critical acclaim across North America since its release
in Fall 2003. The Vancouver Island Parent magazine commented
that ”Jake provides… lyrics the kids will remember
and tunes adults will be grateful for”, while New
Orleans “The Kids’ Show” host Uncle Chris
says that “Take A Little Ride With Me " ...will
have your kids dancing and grooving to the beat! This CD
is a welcome addition to any collection.”.
TAKE
A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME was recorded and mixed almost entirely
at Pro-Trax Studios in Thunder Bay, ON, using many Thunder
Bay musicians. Jake himself plays acoustic guitar throughout
